BLACK LIVES MATTER
The Manchester March (06/06/20)
20,000 people gathered in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester and marched through the city in a show of collective support and solidarity with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ global movement. The brutal murder of Afro-American George Floyd in Minneapolis, by a police officer and the disturbing video footage of the officer with his knee on George Floyd’s neck, sparked outrage around the world.
With racial inequality back in the spotlight, an outpouring of anger and the demand for change spilled out on to the street’s of the city centre during the Covid-19 pandemic in a noisy but peaceful protest… as Mancunians demand to have their voices heard.
